LSPediA Hosts Year-End Customer Advisory Board Meeting

With 2021 coming to a close in two weeks and the holidays right around the corner, LSPediA held its year-end Customer Advisory Board Meeting virtually on Tuesday, Dec. 14.  

CEO Riya Cao directed the meeting and along with Product Engineer Ilir Ivezaj, gave an overview on the Saturday Dec. 18 release of LSPediA OneScan 5.1 which supports FedEx web integration. Customers can access the OneScan 5.1 training via support.lsepdia.com.  

“The 5.1 new release will bring 80 new features to our customers including a dynamic rulebook for customers to configure their own inbound and outbound EPCIS validation without any additional coding,” said Cao. The next OneScan version 5.2 release is planned on January 22, 2022 with 30 new features notably a new transaction for transfer and putaway.  

Several guest speakers joined the meeting on topics of FDA’s recent public meeting and Industry Standard development. Anita Ducca of HDA highlighted HDA’s position at the FDA’s public meeting and explained some major issues that wholesale distributors could face from FDA’s draft guidance published in June. HDA has submitted a 37-page comment to the FDA docket No. FDA-2020-D-2024. You can read the HDA comment here.  

Matt Sample, the senior Vice President of Manufacturer Operations at AmerisourceBergen expressed AB’s position toward DSCSA industry implementation and FDA’s participation.  

Sample said. “The enhanced guidance brings challenges to all of us in our implementation for the 2023 requirement. I’m sure we’ll have a lot more dialogue going forward in the industry and with the FDA.”

LSPediA Senior Support Manager Sean Mustonen gave out Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on customer support, and urged new and current customers to sign up for the support portal and watch the OneScan 5.1 training on demand.  

To wrap up the year-end meeting, guest speaker Tracy Nasarenko, the Executive Director of Community Engagement at GS1 US, spoke on several initiatives that GS1 is taking to help the industry.  

“We are a non-profit organization that brings people together from different parts of the industry to solve a problem or to fill in gaps,” Nasarenko said.  

GS1 US holds three workgroups to tackle issue facing the industry – the Rx Secure Supply Chain Workgroup, which works to design supply chain trading partner solutions; the GDSN Pharmaceutical DSCSA Workgroup, which solves problems in the DSCSA Pharma industry, and the Healthcare RFID Discovery Workshop, which identifies RFID use cases for healthcare and prioritizes industry needs to enable adoption.
