Season of giving continues with our local veterans

The coronavirus outbreak has affected virtually every aspect of our daily lives at some point in the last 18 months. In the midst of so much political and sociological turmoil, even heroes need a helping hand. But who helps the heroes who have fallen on hard times?

LSPediA works with a Michigan Veterans Foundation called Love A Michigan Vet, and sponsors a Christmas dinner for veterans at the Emmanuel House Shelter at St. Mary’s Church on Grand River Ave. In Detroit. Bed sheets, pillows, blankets and more were are distributed to the veterans as gifts.

The LSPediA team will raise funds through employee donations and a 100 percent company match. Proceeds will go toward a wonderful holiday dinner for veterans in need, along with hundreds of gifts.

The Christmas dinner will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22. These heroes will be served dinner and receive gifts as well. The LSPedia team has also held a coat drive to be donated to the children of Harms Elementary School in Detroit.

The holidays are often a joyous time with family and friends. We reflect on our accomplishments and set goals for the year to follow. However, it is important to also look outward and remember to uplift others within our community who are in need. Many that are in need are not afforded the same basic privileges and comforts that we enjoy.
